Today, Nokia revealed the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic, an accesible 3G smartphone tuned specifically for music. The Nokia 5700 XpressMusic features an iconic twist design that switches between four modes - music player, 2 Megapixel camera, video call and smartphone combined with the benefits of a music-oriented, multipurpose device with 3G dataspeeds. The brand new Nokia 5700 XpressMusic will be available in the Nokia stores and retail outlets this April.
Like its name suggests, the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic is a music-first mobile device, augmented by a dedicated audio chip for enhanced music performance. The Nokia 5700 XpressMusic supports up to 1500 tracks on a 2 GB microSD card up to 86 hours worth of music. In addition the built-in stereo loudspeakers let people share their tunes with friends turning the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic into an acoustic crowd-pleaser. An optimized music player supports album art, playlists, plus a 5-band equalizer and audio visualizations.
In Singapore, the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic is the latest addition to the popular range of XpressMusic phones introduced to the market such as Nokia 3250, Nokia 5200 and Nokia 5300 XpressMusic. Targeted at the youth and the young-at-heart who enjoy music on the move, the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic will come with Warner Music content pre-loaded for consumers.
"This close partnership with Warner Music is allowing us to further improve the out-of-box experience for consumers in Singapore," said Chris Carr, General Manager, Nokia Singapore. "Content including video ringtones, soundtracks and wallpapers from artists such as Paris Hilton, P.Diddy and Cassie will allow our customers to personalise their phones like never before."
Ripping CDs and side-loading songs onto the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic is fast and easy as consumers can choose from a broad range of supported digital formats, including WMA, MP3, eAAC+ and MP4. When purchasing music online, shoppers again have the luxury of choice as they can select from a range of Internet music stores utilizing Windows Media Player Digital Rights management (WMDRM). Moreover, the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic lets consumers enjoy their tracks with Bluetooth stereo headphones, such as the BH-501 or with their own favorite headphones via 3.5mm headset jack adaptor.
3G and video are part of the package
More than just a music device, the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic brings videos to life on a colour display screen of up to 16 million colours with excellent video playback functionality. With 3G high-speed data connectivity, the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic makes browsing, downloading and streaming multimedia content much more convenient and faster. The video call feature and built-in 2 Megapixel camera, with a full screen view finder and panorama mode make it easy to share special moments with friends and family.
The Nokia 5700 XpressMusic is based on S60 software which enables users to personalize the phone with a wide variety of add-on applications, enhancements, content and services. There are thousands of useful, as well as purely fun, applications available to further extend the device functionality, ranging from dictionaries to mapping services and podcasting applications. Several programs can run simultaneously on a S60 handset enabling consumers to surf their favourite websites while listening to the music of their choice. To make the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic reflect its owner’s style, themes, video ringtones and wallpapers can be changed according to personal preferences.
