The brand new Leica M8 is the first digital camera based on the legendary reporter camera from Leica that was first introduced around 52 years ago with the M3 model. The new HP iPAQ rx4000 Mobile Media Companion features a personal media player (PMP) inspired design. The rx4000 is the latest in the line of iPAQs due to launch in Asia in October. The device feauters 2.8-inch colour LCD screen, Windows Mobile 5.0,built-in Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity and can even run VOIP software. The new iPAQ is designed to be used as a PMP, and comes with media-based features such as a scroll wheel for one-handed operation, and the ability to view media in either landscape or portriat mode. Television viewing on mobile phones should be commonplace by 2008, at least in Europe and the US. This opinion was recently expressed by Nokia, the world’s largest cell phone maker. Trials conducted in the past year have shown that consumers like the service and are willing to pay 5 to 10 euros per month for it.“Excited by the prospects of a possible cash cow, the mobile and broadcast industries are keen to launch commercial services in Europe and the United States,” reports CNN, “while South Korea already has them in operation.”“There are currently half a dozen mobile TV technologies which work in many different parts of the frequency band.”
